Finding one record means knowing which of the eight other apps it lives in. “How are we doing” questions get answered by opening several of those apps and doing the math by hand.
That approach breaks down in predictable ways:

A thin, honest layer over the suite’s own data — instant cross-module search, a rule-based digest and anomaly check, and a chat interface that answers plain-language questions by querying live data.
The solution included:
- Live, debounced search across contacts, inventory, orders, and employees
- Daily digest — sales, cash position, low-stock count, generated on demand
- Anomaly checks against recent trends, clearly labeled as rule-based, not ML
- Chat that answers real questions ("what's our net income", "who's my top customer") from live data
- Chat history persists locally between visits
